Paint it forward

A few months ago, Port City Paint was lucky enough to cross paths with Ms. Donna.  She is an enthusiastic and passionate resident of the Wilmington area, and introduced our team to Eden Village of Wilmington.

This is a project of great ambition, involving a lot of folks in the community:  businesses, volunteers, non-profits and more.

According to their website:  “Eden Village of Wilmington will be a 32-unit tiny home community specially designed to provide permanent homes for chronically homeless individuals including patients of the local hospital. Many patients of the medical center experience chronic illness, which are treatable but require consistent living circumstances to improve treatment results. A home is an essential component to long-term health care for these individuals and a proven, permanent solution to chronic homelessness.”

What makes Ms. Donna so amazing and this project so unique is the amount of people, who truly care...even though they may be one of the residents.  Ms. Donna paid it forward to a family in need, who needed a home now.  And she called on Port City Paint, asked for a bid on painting the interior of a home out side of Eden Village that a family in need could move into immediately.

She saw a need, she contacted Port City Paint, and owner, Mark gathered his team, friends, family and more and they showed up to paint the house for the family to move into.  At no charge.  The point is, that Ms. Donna was willing to go the extra mile, quickly and efficiently, and that in-turn made our team do the same.
